Bordering on pricey but throughly enjoyable food- the xlb was bigger than I expected. Really nice vibe and no wait on a Wednesday night even though still crowded.
Stopped in for a quick late lunch. We ordered the Pan Fried Beef Bao Dumplings & Steamed Crab Dumplings with Thai teas. Our food was delicious, the beef being our favorite. This restaurant is so cute and well decorated. Our server, Ben was amazing and made sure we had all we needed throughout our meal.
Stopped in for lunch while in the City. This place has good reviews and we were in the mood for some dumpling. We were not disappointed! The service was great, the menu easy to read and make choices. You could order 4 or 8 dumplings as well as a choice of steamed or pan fried. The bao came out steaming hot in a basket. Excellent food! We will be back next time we are in the Bay Area.
December 2025 Authentuc Regional Northern Chinese cuisine serving restaurant in casual and informal setting. A very balanced menu caters to all basic meal types and serving sizes. The dumplings in particular are considerably large. Service is prompt and no frills. The place is cozy, modern, and clean Ideal for small groups
The place for Sunday dumplings! Or any day! Everything we tried was excellent, but I LOVED the lamb curry dumplings! The brisket noodle soup, eggplant and green beans were tasty, too. I hope to return someday.
This is hands-down my second favorite dumpling spot in SF! The soup dumplings are the stars here super flavorful and better than the fried ones, in my opinion. The sesame boiled dumplings are my runner-up pick. Pro tip: try the spicy soup dumplings and ask for their chili sauce, drizzle it on top for that extra kick I also tried their fried eggplant and that was too oily. Service is quick, but expect a ~20 minute wait during peak hours. The space is small, but you’re right in the heart of Fillmore with plenty of shops to explore while you wait.
Sat at one of the three tables outside. Was gorgeous sunny day and the setting was perfect. Food was super yum, high quality and so tasty. Highly recommend. I had the numbing spicy pork bao (fried), steamed numbing spicy steamed dumplings, pork wontons in sesame and spicy sauce and dan dan noodles. Large serving sizes and they tried to talk me into ordering by less as they were worried I was ordering mg too much. Loved their care. I wanted to try it all and said I will bring the rest home for later meals. Good decision making I say and didn’t regret my choices
Absolutely blown away by the flavors here! The pan-fried pork bao and beef bao were incredible — a total must-try, and much bigger than I’ve had elsewhere. The cucumber salad was fresh and delicious, and they serve a big pot of tea which was perfect for sharing. Honestly, one of the tastiest dinners we’ve had in a while — we’ll definitely be coming back again and again! And staff is really nice and friendly!
